First of all a welcome to the PNA stand. This year for the second year we are in attendance where we have the pleasure of present the results of this study that was completed with a technical committee that was involved with the validation by the Polytechnic University of Turin, which studied the emission of CO2 emissions for the production of slabs two centimetres thick. So it is a path that was started last year with the signing of the Manifesto.
It is a path that is however also a commitment of responsibility and sustainability commitment that accompanies all the companies that adhere to PNA. This fair, like the main trade fairs in the sector, sees the presence of the industry at 360 degrees, the entire stone industry chain is present, so the relationship that develops over the years with technology manufacturers rather than companies of consumables rather than abrasives, all contribute through experience then in the field by the laboratories rather than in the quarries, to develop more and more modern technologies, especially starting with quarrying techniques in quarries much less invasive and I would say absolutely in respect of what I like to remember as quarrying, which is a cultivation of ornamental stone and so we processors then become protagonists and actors in this work that is done upstream by the technological sector, which then translates into our realisations with the use of ever greener machinery, with the use of less consumption and above all with longer and longer machine lifetimes.
PNA is an enterprise network that has been present for several years now and this year is reconfirming its participation in this important international trade fair, where it presents the results of this study. It is a network which was created with the firm objective of promoting the use of genuine natural stone in construction. The results we present support what is the natural green soul of our sector and we are also present above all through our companies that also participate with extensive communication and a presence that is always brought to all events. We like to remember that for every square metre of authentic natural stone that is used we contribute responsibly to reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. There is no project if there is no designer and no designer if it is not accompanied in the design by authentic natural stone. I would say, the stone that is quarried in the quarry then has the ability to transform itself into a material that is absolutely workable and sinuous, from shapes multiple shapes, from beautiful finishes and textures that truly contribute to a realisation, to a project and, above all, to be able to decline what are the designer’s expectations into unique, exclusive and above all sustainable realisations.
